Consider this my love note to Colorado. It is difficult to express how incredibly thankful I am for this place. I can only hope the photos show just how exciting it is! We (Dustin and I) took a quick day adventure to the Red Rock Amphitheater. Wowza! The red peaking through the snow was so incredibly beautiful. The air was so crisp. I just wanted to make snow angels and sip hot chocolate all day long.

What a year! I was sifting through my archives and “reflecting” on the past 12 months. Needless to say, I feel like one fortunate gal! I’ve crossed paths with some incredible people from all over. They are the root of inspiration for me and I am so grateful for that. I’m ready for the next adventure. Bring it on 2014! Next up, weddings in LA, New York and France. Stay tuned! There is plenty more to see and I am thankful for you all.

Happy Holidays!

I received a call from Charlotte’s mother about scheduling a portrait session for her 16th birthday. What a great idea! I think all mother’s should do this. Growing up (especially in high school) seems like such a fragile and exciting journey. When thinking back, I barely remember that time. What I do remember is how I felt. I had this eagerness to grow up, travel, experience the unknown and listen to music 24/7. Oh the teen years (sigh).

Charlotte was such a breath of fresh air. We had loads of fun in the downtown area of Houston! Who knew that Superbowl Sunday would be the ideal time to shoot?! We had the city to ourselves. Enjoy one of the images from yesterday. There will be plenty more to come…

It’s time! Good gracious I love Christmas. We headed to the glorious and colorful New Orleans for the holidays. I have to give major props to my bro Barrett and my darling Dustin James and Gretchen for their patience with my Nikon.

People of Houston, if you haven’t been to Catalina Coffee yet, do yourself a favor and order a cortado.

Much love and Happy Holidays to all!

I am happy to be blogging again and excited to share a handful of images from this portrait session of Jessica Nicole. She is the beauty, brains, and talent queen of Disregarden. I first met Jessica at the Melrose Trading Post in LA. I completely fell in love with her work. Her furniture caught my eye immediately and we were destined to be close friends. It was one of those moments ya know? I bought several pieces from her and have since been one of her biggest fans. Enjoy the beauty folks!

Alas, here is the rest of the ‘Utterly’ series. I had to pull myself away at times from the computer on this one. I notice a photo is never really done until you decide it is. I tried to keep  the edit as true to the moment as possible. I would love to know your favorites!

Enjoy…

My dearest friend Stephanie (can’t imagine living without) is such a beauty inside and out. I decided that taking time to reflect and remember each minute is always important. Waking up at 6am, blasting music in my living room and snapping shots was totally, completely, absolutely, quite perfectly, and fully altogether necessary. Alas, here is the first shot from ‘Utterly’. Enjoy xo M
